Welcome to the 2010 Icefest website. This is the eighth annual IceFest, scheduled for January 28th - 31st, 2010 in downtown Chambersburg. It will be the biggest and best one yet! This much anticipated winter festival features live ice carving and amazing ice sculptures, food vendors, extended business hours, Chili Cook off, Fireworks on Saturday and so much more!!
With more sculptures, an expanded Chili Cook-off and additional food vendors and musical acts, area residents and out-of-town visitors are sure to be chilled and thrilled. Also new to IceFest activities this year: a 40 ft. Ice Slide!!
The main attraction of this community event, the Live Ice Carving, begins on Thursday evening at 5pm and continues on Friday from 5pm-8pm. Carvers use chain saws, propane torches and hand tools to turn blocks of ice into an array of artistic sparkling masterpieces.
A special fireworks display will be featured Saturday at 6:30pm from the Southgate Mall and is not to be missed.
The Chili Cook-Off will again be the “hot” event! This sixth annual event will have even more entries offering their rendition of the winter way-up, from extra spicy to gourmet. Area clubs and organizations prepare their special recipes and you can vote for your favorite. Check back for more up to date Chili Cook-Off news...music, beverages and lots of FUN are in the works!
From the first IceFest, which featured 15 one-blocks and 5 giant sculptures, to 2010’s expanded festival; this growing community event has captured the attention of thousands of people who live close by, as well as, those who travel to Chambersburg to attend this annual event.
